The Strategic Planning Department at De Montfort University is looking for a Planning Officer - a great opportunity to move into a graduate level role, to move into strategic planning from a general administrative role in HE, or to start a career in HE strategic planning. De Montfort University is undergoing an exciting period of change, as part of a bold strategic plan and in response to a radical shake-up of higher education funding. This role, in the busy Strategic Planning Department, will provide essential data analysis, reports, and management information to decisions makers at all levels in the university, and provide vital support for strategic planning and performance monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and experience in data analysis and business intelligence in a fast changing environment.
You will report initially to the Principal Planning Officer in the department, although much of the work expected will be as part of project teams, reporting to project managers.
The ideal candidate will have excellent numeracy, a logical and analytical approach to data analysis, excellent IT skills including Excel and Access, experience of data analysis and report writing, a creative approach to problems, and excellent communication skills.
