Psychologist/Ph.D. Student
(Doctorate position) in Hannover, Germany
for a cooperation in a project called “Botulinum Neurotoxin, Facial Feedback and Clinical Application in Major Depression”. The position offers an employment for 3 years as a research assistant combined with the official status of a doctoral student at the Hannover Medical School (MHH). The project is part of a research cooperation that aims in elucidating the role of Botulinum Neurotoxin in the treatment of affective disorders as well as concomitant physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms. The position involves the organisation, planning and evaluation of diagnostic, neuropsychological and neuroradiological tests (functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging) in close cooperation with colleagues and the alliance in Hannover, Hamburg & Basel. There are excellent opportunities for professional scientific development. Additionally, the clinic has a laboratory for molecular neuroscience, with all relevant chemical and molecular procedures. The interdisciplinary base is established in cooperation with other institutes in the MHH.
The clinic has 166 in-patient beds, 2 out-patient care institutes and 42 day clinic locations. The clinical care areas offer expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of geriatrics, addiction, affective disorders, psychosis, ADHS, Tourette Syndrome, and sexual medicine. Within the clinic are 2 advanced training institutes for cognitive behaviour therapy (AVVM) and psychoanalysis (IPAW). This position also offers the possibility to complete advanced training to become a psychological psychotherapist. A large choice of additional training is offered e.g. Forensic Psychiatry (MD) or Sexual Therapy (PPs).
Applicants should have experience, or an interest, in neuroscientific research methods, with experience in neuroradiology. Diagnostic-clinical experience in psychiatry, in particular affective disorders, is beneficial.
