Dear colleagues,
I am writing my Masters dissertation on *The impact of mandatory Web 2.0 use in professional development programmes on teachers’ attitudes to learning technologies*, and would like to know the extent to which other institutions are using Web 2.0 technologies on their CPD courses, particularly those who are mandating the use of Web 2.0 tools through graded assessment, but also those who are supporting or promoting the use of Web 2.0 tools (blogs & wikis, uploading of user-generated video/audio, etc) in other ways. If you can specify the nature of the programme(s) in your responses - PG Cert/other, credit-bearing/non-credit-bearing, probationary requirement/voluntary, etc - that would be very helpful.
Please do reply to me personally at [log in to unmask] to avoid bombarding the entire list!
For those who are interested... in my dissertation I argue that, when incorporated into programme assessment and supported by appropriate teaching and learning activities, the mandatory use of relevant Web 2.0 applications on professional development programmes can have a significant, positive influence on teachers’ willingness to experiment with appropriate technologies in their own teaching practice, and confidence in their ability to make effective use of such technologies.
Thanks in advance; I look forward to receiving your responses.
