Dear Lis-linkers,
(Apologies for cross-posting).
Lews Castle College, part of the University of the Highlands and
Islands, is seeking a temporary Senior Library Assistant.
Lews Castle College is situated in Stornoway in the Western Isles
(Scottish islands recently achieved top scores for overall satisfaction
rates in the Office of National Statistics' national well-being
measures). The College’s location places it at the heart of Hebridean
communities, within a stunning natural environment.
The Senior Library Assistant will be part of a small team which aims to
support the college community through the provision of an efficient and
effective library, learning centre and information service to students
and staff.
A qualification accredited by CILIP is essential, as is one year’s
post-qualification experience, together with excellent IT and
communication skills.
This post affords the chance to support a wide range of subject
specialisms including engineering (with specialisms in renewable
technologies), computing, traditional music, Gaelic, fine art, health
studies, maritime studies, rural development, food management and
hospitality and many more. The small nature of the Library team means
that the opportunity to carry out a full range of professional duties is
ensured. The post is fixed term (ending 30th August 2013).
Salary: between £16,873 and £18,126 depending on qualifications and
experience, plus £1,878 Islands Allowance.
Further details are available at:
http://www.lews.uhi.ac.uk/
Further questions about the post can be submitted to me via the contact
details below. The deadline for applications is 16.00 on Tuesday 7th
August 2012.
