Postgraduate Scholarship in High Energy Astrophysics
The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, is offering a postgraduate
scholarship to work in the High Energy Astrophysics Group led by Prof
Felix Aharonain. Funding is available for 4 years starting in October
2012 and includes a stipend, payment of postgraduate fees, an equipment
grant as well as travel support.
The student will work on the theory of acceleration of highest energy
cosmic rays in active galactic nuclei, as well as on the propagation of
cosmic rays and gamma rays through the intergalactic magnetic and
radiation fields. The student will work with Prof. F. Aharonian, Prof.
L. Drury, and Dr. A. Taylor
A primary degree in physics, or a related field, and a background in
astronomy are mandatory.
