Dear Marcel (and all)
I was interested to see your post and while I can't help directly with your enquiry I wanted to make you aware of my research. I am an occupational therapist and PhD researcher with the School of Geography at Queen Mary, University of London. I am currently undertaking a qualitative research project concerned with the experiences of women who have been detained in Immigration Removal Centres but who now live in the UK. I'm interested in understanding the enduring effects of detention on mental well-being and how women create 'home' in the UK after release - if indeed they can. While I understand that your call for evidence is concerned with mental health within detention I thought it perhaps worth having on your 'radar' that there is also research being undertaken which includes as it's focus the on-going legacy of detention for mental well being. My particular interest is how this may be situated and contextualised within narratives of 'home'.
Very best,
Menah
