TWI, formerly the Welding Institute, is a technology research and consulting organisation specializing in engineering materials: welding, coating & joining technologies, fabrication, structural integrity, and inspection & non-destructive testing.
With its main premises situated on a greenfield site south of Cambridge, TWI has laboratory and engineering facilities which we will be introduced to. We will also learn about the work of the library and information services and the records management function. TWI has a long-established and well-regarded information service which, amongst other things, produces the Weldasearch database and a database of welding consumables.
The technical expertise of TWI is relevant across almost all engineering sectors, so we hope this event will be of interest to you.
The visit will take place on Wednesday 5 September at 2pm.
The event is free of charge. Numbers are limited to 20. Lunch will not be provided but there is a café/restaurant on the Granta Park site and also one at TWI’s premises (with last service 1.15pm)
If you would like to book a place at this event, please email Sue Harris on [log in to unmask]
