I have made available an open (CC licensed)- free to re-use/edit
-specification for a unified ('next generation') library resource management
system on the Open Specifications for Library Systems (LibTechRFP) wiki.
https://libtechrfp.wikispaces.com/
There is an online version which is open to edit and also a (WORD)
downloadable version. The spec is based on one supplied by an UK university
(many thanks to ...)
The document is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License which
'is the most permissive of the six main licenses created by the Creative
Commons project (Licenses/CC-0 effectively releases a work into the public
domain)'. So do feel free to re-use it in any way you see fit. Please also
feel free to edit the online version and add anything you think has been
missed. Each page of the wiki has a 'discussion' feature so do also feel
free to simply add comments etc. Also feel free to contact me directly.
LIBTechRFP also has specifications for search/discovery services, an ERM
system and is home to the 'UK Core Specification ('UKCS') for library
management systems (LMS/ILS). Note-not all of the specifications are
licensed in the quite the same way.
