Refugee Law Initiative Graduate Fellowship
The Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) – based at the Human Rights Consortium of the School of Advanced Study, University of London - is inviting applications for a Graduate Fellowship Award of up to £1,500 (gross) for an individual undertaking research in the refugee and human rights field. The Award is for a 4-month period and is payable at the mid-point of the Fellowship.
The scheme is open to all advanced PhD students interested in working with the academics of the RLI in organising, facilitating and disseminating work undertaken on international law for the protection of refugees and other displaced persons - see here for details of the RLI: http://www.sas.ac.uk/rli.html
The recipients of the Award will be expected to contribute to convening the RLI’s Programme of Events. The recipient(s) will work with the Director of the RLI, Dr David James Cantor, contributing to the convening of conferences and seminars, and producing reports on these events and undertake a follow up exercise thereafter. They will also be expected to attend those conferences and seminars. The expected time commitment from the recipient will be two days per week, by negotiation, based at the School of Advanced Study in London.
Candidates for the Award will be advanced Doctoral students working in a related field, and will have good organisational skills and excellent written English. Prior experience in the organisation of events would be welcomed.

The application deadline is 5.30 pm, Monday 23 July 2012. Interviews will be scheduled for later during that week. The appointment would be expected to start on 1 October 2012.
The appointment can be renewable by mutual agreement.
