Dear Tina,
I would be very interested in finding out the depth of the cut of the mould.
We have done some experimental work casting flat axes in stone moulds. Our
aim was to replicate and use moulds examined at the National Museum of
Ireland. These moulds are cut much deeper than the normal thickness of the
axe, and I would be very interested to find out if your moulds were also cut
deeply into the stone.
