Applications are invited for a Statistician to join the Department and provide statistical leadership to the Institute's UKCRN registered Clinical Trials Unit (www.ctu.co.uk).
Based in the Institute of Psychiatry the successful applicant will work within an established team in the CTU. They will be expected to lead the statistical work of the Unit requiring in depth involvement in all aspects of trials, working closely with researchers on preparing funding bids, giving statistical advice on trial design and analysis, managing junior statisticians and implementing novel methodology. Opportunities for post-graduate teaching and supervision are available.
The appointment will be at Senior Lecturer level so applicants must have a PhD, a strong peer reviewed publication history and experience of working as a trial statistician or applied statistician. Enthusiasm and excellent communication skills are essential as considerable negotiation with research teams is required to ensure trials are conducted to the appropriate regulatory and academic standards. An interest in early phase trials or trials with biomarkers or surrogate outcomes would be desirable.
The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications within the Grade 8 scale, currently £49,169 to £56,606 including £2,323 London Allowance, per annum.
