Thanks Katie - can I clarify a few points.
The OOKL learning platform uses iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch). In
most cases venues supply the devices to pupils as it is unlikely all of
them will have the required one. Those that do can download the app and
use it for free. The space does need to have WiFi so that the devices can
connect to the OOKL website. It's entirely practical to run the service
with two-four pupils per device to keep costs down.
We have also launched an app for family learning which does not require the
venue to hold devices. In this case, families download OOKL to their own
device for free and play learning based games and follow interactive trails
created by partner venues. Games and Trails are stored locally on the
device which means that as long as the user has access to 3g/ WiFi
connectivity to download it for a brief time then they can then play in a
space without connectivity. There is a free 30 day trial and the annual fee
is currently £199/US$299. I hope that helps. more info
