Glasgow Science Centre (GSC) are looking to recruit a Science and Interpretation Assistant to work within the BodyWorks on Tour team to undertake content research and support the development of, training in and delivery of a programme of science/health and wellbeing-themed activities for a range of audiences.
Main Duties include:
- To ensure that the On Tour programme is engaging, topical, relevant to participants and has sound scientific content.
- To support the development of the new programme including shows, workshops, teacher CPD and complementary web resources.
- To support the development of new exhibits for the Fit lab exhibits workshop and the BodyVision exhibits workshop.
- To assist with the collection, analysis and reporting of formative evaluation data.
- To work effectively with external providers in the development of new technology for shows and exhibit workshops and in the creation of online supporting materials.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Degree level qualification in a science based subject or 3 years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence.
- Experience of working with interactive exhibits is desirable.
- Experience of developing science activities for a range of audiences is desirable.
- A passion for excellence, creativity and innovation in conveying the learning of science & technology to others.
- Display a high degree of commitment to GSC’s science mission.
