Good afternoon
I have a lady who has a long history of migraine. I am asking for a GP report but wandered if you could give any advice in the meantime. She has been absent since 12th March. Apparently she was initially managed with codeine. However due to dependency this was declined and further medication has cause significant side effects.
The side effects reportedly include memory loss, night mares, ‘dopey feeling’
To date a suitable alternative to Codeine has not been found and she continues to have migraines daily.
She remains under the care of her GP and Neurologist.
She has tried to return to work but only managed one week of 4.5 hours and 2 days of 5.5 hours before going sick again. She was comming back to work today but had a migraine - hopes to return tomorrow - always sounds positive she will return but has difficulty achieving it. It always seems as although she has a migraine or is suffering from a side effect of the medication. Does anyone know if CBT may be able to help before I suggest it?? Thanks for your help as ususal.
