A postdoc position is available in the group of Sergei Manzhos at the National University of Singapore, in the area of computational modeling of metal-ion batteries. Specific focus is on Na-ion batteries for large-scale storage applications. The successful candidate will work on atomic-level simulations of the interaction of metal ions with promising anode materials. The candidate should have: a recent Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field; an experience with DFT and DFT-based software (e.g. VASP, SIESTA), including parallel calculations, and molecular dynamics; ability to program and to use programs written in different environments is an asset; a record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals. Fluent English is required. The position is initially for one year, and renewable upon mutual agreement. The salary is SGD55,000 in the first year, from which an income tax of less than 3% is payable ( http://www.iras.gov.sg/irasHome/page04.aspx?id=1190 ). The salary will increase in subsequent years.
