PhD Studentships in Film & Media Studies
Starting in September 2012, 50 fully-funded PhD Studentships are available across our Faculties and Research Institutes, including two in Film & Media.
Faculty of Arts, Law & Social Sciences is renowned for its teaching and research excellence. Four of our subjects, (English, History, Music and Art), had elements of world-leading research identified in RAE 2008. The Faculty of Arts, Law & Social Sciences seeks applications for 18 studentships, three of them funded by the AHRC. The Faculty currently has a lively postgraduate culture that includes 180 PhD students, and has ambitious plans to enhance its research environment in preparation for the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014).

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
