Freud Museum Day Conference Saturday 30th June 2012
SPORT AND PSYCHOANALYSIS
A Contribution to the Psycho-Cultural Olympiad
At the Anna Freud Centre, London NW3
A day before the European Championship final, in the first week of Wimbledon and a month before the Olympics, the Freud Museum looks at the psycho-social significance of Sport and what, in particular, lies beyond ‘winning’. Issues about the body, play, aggression, sublimation, group processes and unconscious motivation, will be used to investigate the unconscious dynamics of sport and its emotional impact.
