Hi Emyr,
Here's an idea for a quick check. That particular error, No route to
host, sometimes comes from the socket software. It has a number, 10065,
which you could google.
I expect TCP/IP tried to send a packet out, but could not for some
reason. I'm not familiar with how the CREAM/SGE/Worker-node data flow
works, and I don't know your setup. But it might be worth checking that
you can (at least) ssh between all the links between your servers and
worker nodes. If, while checking each link, you come across "No route to
host", or something like it, then you may be able to track down the
problem from there.
