My hair has faded. We had an audience in the twenties tonight, an
improvement on recent months, for the biographer Martin Stannard talking
about Larkin and Monica Jones. He, and several of the audience, had known,
from a youthful distance, the subjects a little in real life. In which,
real life, we were on a first night at a new venue, called the atrium,
which it was, so we had an evening in an inflated corridor, only to find,
at the end of the night, there was a pristine lecture theatre available all
along. Such fun.
