The Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute at the University of
Nottingham has 12 internships available to postgraduate students this
Summer. The titles are as follows:

HOR-INTERN-2012-14: What Does One's Mobile Phone Usage Reveal?
HOR-INTERN-2012-15: Observing Multi-Screen Domestic Ecologies
HOR-INTERN-2012-16: Patterns of Mobility Using Games to Study the Games
HOR-INTERN-2012-17: Spatial Quality Of Crowd Sensed Information
HOR-INTERN-2012-18: Affective Computing Tools on the Cloud
HOR-INTERN-2012-19: Re-experiencing the Past - How Did Ancient People
Travel?
The internship "HOR-INTERN-2012-17: Spatial Quality Of Crowd Sensed
Information" in particular will be carried out in collaboration with the
Nottingham Geospatial Institute and will involve building an open source
plugin for Quantum GIS to aid data quality assessment of crowd-sourced GIS
data.
The internships are for 10 weeks (full-time) and is aimed at current
postgraduate students, particularly PhD students and are supported by a
modest bursary or casual wage. We are unable to support travel costs to
Nottingham, however the weekly bursary is intended to provide funding for
Nottingham-based accommodation and personal costs while in Nottingham.
Applications are due by 25 May. Internships start as soon as possible but
should end by Friday September 21st at the latest.
