Hello all
I am in the process of creating a disabled-people led project to video record oral histories of disabled people in Cornwall. The final resource/product (a range of DVDs) will be accessed via our Disabled People's Organisation (DPO), rather than via an academic institution. However I have included our local university in the project and will make sure final copies of the DVDs will be available through a local audio/visual archive, thereby 'mainstreaming' these histories within the 'regular' oral history archive.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who knows about any similar activity, especially if it is happening at the DPO, rather than at the academic, level. I would hope to see this type of activity replicated across the UK, and so would like to learn from any similar projects that have already happened, or are happening right now.
Many thanks for your time on this.
