Junior Biostatistician

Job Purpose
To assist with the statistical aspects of several CTU studies under the guidance of the Head of Biostatistics
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. To assist with the provision of statistical reports on studies (final and interim)
2. To assist with development of statistical analysis plans for studies
3. To comment on and contribute to trial publications and by this support the University in the REF by publishing collaborative research which is of international quality in peer-reviewed journals as senior statistical author
4. Attend meetings/conferences to present research findings and to represent the CTU
5. Under the guidance of the Head of Biostatistics provide statistical input into the preparation of grant applications
6. Review and input to the creation of study Data Management Plans
7. Review study case report forms
8. Attend study Data Monitoring and Steering Committee meetings
9. To play a supportive role in co-ordination and management of trials via Trials Management Groups.
10. To contribute to the development of CTU's Standard Operating Procedures
Standard Terms & Conditions
Salary will be on the University's Research and Teaching Grade, level 6, £26,004 - £29,249 per annum.
The funding for this post is until September 2013.
New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.
The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.
All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to be managed through the University's relevant processes (e.g. contractual and financial), in accordance with the University Court's policies.
