Call for evoAPPLICATIONS Track Proposals
Deadline: 15 May 2012
The European Conference on the Applications of Evolutionary Computation - evoAPPLICATIONS 2013 - invites proposals for tracks, which will be held as part of the evostar 2013 event in Vienna, Austria, April 3–5.
Each track is assumed to focus on an area of application of genetic and evolutionary computation and other related Computational Intelligence fields. Researchers with a strong background in genetic and evolutionary computation are encouraged to submit proposals. A track proposal should have a maximum of two prospective chairs.
Prior to submission, proposers are advised to check tracks running in 2012 at the evostar website, www.evostar.org, in order to avoid overlaps.
Each proposal should contain the following information:
1.) A description of the track topic. Specific issues on which the track will focus should be identified (max. half page)
2.) A brief discussion of why the topic is of interest to the genetic and evolutionary computation community. What audience will be attending the track? (max. half page).
3.) An estimate of the numbers of potential attendees, accepted papers and submissions. If a previous edition of the same or a similar track has already taken place (even if at another event) then you should also specify how many submissions, accepted papers and attendants the track had.
4.) Names and complete contact information (affiliation, postal address, E-mail, fax and telephone numbers, www page) of the track organiser(s).
5.) A brief biography of the organisers, including previous experience in workshop or conference organisation.
Organisers whose proposals are accepted as an evoAPPLICATIONS 2013 track will be responsible for coordinating the track. Track chairs are responsible for sending out calls for papers, elaborating a suitable programme committee for the track, interfacing with the submission and review system, deciding which papers are to be considered for inclusion in the track, and interacting with their authors when necessary.
Attendance to the tracks will be open to all evostar attendees. Note that ALL chairs, participants and presenters must register for the evostar 2013 event. Chairs of a track do NOT qualify for a reduction in the registration or accommodation costs of evostar 2013.
Accepted track papers will be collected in the evoAPPLICATIONS proceedings and published by Springer as part of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series, with all track chairs appearing as co-editors. Details and additional deadlines will be provided once it has been decided which tracks will be accepted for evoAPPLICATIONS 2013.
Track proposals can be submitted any time up until May 15, 2012. Proposals should be submitted as plain text files (no HTML). Track organisers will be notified by May 25 whether or not their track is accepted as an evoAPPLICATIONS 2013 track.
Proposals should be sent by e-mail to:
