Actor Hugh Grant, anti-phone hacking campaigner Tom Watson MP, phone
hacking victim Mary-Ellen Field, deputy leader of the Labour Party Harriet
Harman MP, general secretary of the NUJ Michelle Stanistreet, and former
Crimewatch presented Jacqui Hames will join a host of other victims,
politicians and campaigners in this unprecedented public event. Speakers
will be voicing their demands and visions for change in support of a
democratic and accountable media.
James Curran, Chair of Coordinating Committee for Media Reform, said: "The
response to this event has been phenomenal and an indication of real public
concern and momentum behind progressive reform of the media. Never before
has there been such a united front against the perils of concentrated media
power."
