The Coordinating Committee for Media Reform in conjunction with the Hacked
Off campaign will be hosting a public rally for Media Reform at
Westminster Central Hall. Speakers include Hugh Grant, Tom Watson MP,
Mary-Ellen Field, Jaqui Hames, Peter Bottomley MP, Owen Jones, Michelle
Stanistreet, Martin Moore, James Curran, Imran Khan and more.. a
cross-section of celebrities, victims, campaigners and politicians who
will gather together to voice their views about what a democratic and
accountable media means. The event will be well-timed to coincide with a
burgeoning public debate over the future of British media stemming from
module 3 of the Leveson Inquiry and the imminent communications green
paper consultation. Entrance is free and open to all but advance
registration is required to guarantee entry prior to 6pm. Tickets

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
