‘Weight is the new challenge’: how can health psychology help maternity care professionals to support women to have a healthy weight and lifestyle in pregnancy?

This multi-disciplinary research seminar aims to extend the current knowledge and understanding of the psychological processes influencing pregnant women’s health behaviours, specifically in terms of their lifestyle and weight.
The research seminar will be split into two sessions:
Session 1 - How can we support women in making healthy choices regarding their lifestyle and weight during their pregnancy?
Session 2 – How can we support health professionals to help pregnant women make healthy choices regarding their lifestyles and weight?
Each session will consist of a panel of experts from different disciplines. Each panellist will give a brief presentation of their work in the area and then will take part in a structured discussion led by a chair.
Free spaces are available to members of the Division of Health Psychology.
Spaces have also been reserved for non-members at a cost of £15.
