I have been asked to implement on behalf of my library colleagues the results of a review into their periodical holdings and subscriptions. This took into account changing patterns of use and whether we still subscribed.
As a result there are several significant runs of periodicals that will be disposed of. Our local Universities are not interested (one responded that they were trying to reduce their holdings of paper periodicals). A second hand book and papers auctioneer refused even to take them, saying that they had no market and collectors were not interested in bound library sets.
So before I send them for pulping or put them in the skip, I offer them to anyone, institutional or individual who is able to collect them before the end of June.
