Glasgow Women’s Library (GWL) is unique in Scotland. An Accredited Museum, it is a vibrant information hub housing a lending library, archive collections and artefacts relating to women’s lives, histories and achievements. It also delivers an innovative Lifelong Learning Programme, an Adult Literacy and Numeracy Project, a dedicated Black and Minority Ethnic Women’s Project and a National Lifelong Learning Project.
GWL will be relocating to permanent, fit-for-purpose premises in the near future and is seeking to recruit a committed, imaginative individual who can embrace this exciting role within a dynamic team.
Salary: AP5, SCP 32 (£27,780 per annum)
Full Time: 35 hours per week
Fixed Term Contract until 30th June 2013
Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we require a qualified and highly motivated Archivist to catalogue, conserve and make accessible our various archival collections and train volunteers in archive related skills. You must be a graduate with an appropriate professional qualification, with hands-on experience of archive management systems and a sound background in cataloguing archival collections. You should enjoy working with a broad range of people, be a confident group leader and have an interest in women’s history and achievements.
This post is exempt for women only under Schedule 9 part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
