Applicants are invited to apply for a post doc position in surface chemical dynamics in the Chemistry Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The research is focused on the surface chemistry of model nanocatalysts prepared by size-selected cluster deposition and will be conducted under the direction of Dr. Mike White. Emphasis is on characterization of the cluster-support interfacial electronic structure using laser and conventional photoemission and scanning probe techniques. Use of nearby facilities such as the National Synchrotron Light Source and the Center for Functional Nanomaterials is also anticipated. A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required along with a background in chemical physics and/or surface science. Candidates should have experience with ultrafast or Q-switched lasers and laser spectroscopy, high vacuum instrumentation, and ion/electron spectrometers and detectors. A working knowledge of quantum chemistry computer software packages is desirable.
Qualified applicants should apply online on the Brookhaven National Laboratory web site (www.bnl.gov). Click Jobs, then click Search Job List and apply to position #16080. Brookhaven National Laboratory is an equal opportunity employer committed to building and maintaining a diverse workforce.
