Applications are invited for a post-doc position in the group of Prof. Jinjun Liu, (http://louisville.edu/chemistry/directory/faculty/jinjun-liu.html) Department of Chemistry and the Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research (http://conncenter.org/) at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, to work in the area of ultrafast laser spectroscopy of solar cells. The initial contract is for one year, renewable for a second year based on performance. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The selected candidate will be responsible for executing studies on solar cells using an existing transient absorption spectroscopy system. The current research project aims to understand the photoinduced electron-transfer dynamics in novel organic solar cells and nanoparticle/nanowire-based dye-sensitized solar cells. The selected candidate will be expected to design and develop new experimental apparatuses for ultrafast laser spectroscopy under the supervision of the PI.
Candidates should have Ph.D. degrees in chemistry or physics. Previous hands-on experience in ultrafast laser systems, optics, and spectroscopy techniques such as time-resolved photoluminescence, femtosecond pump-probe, or photoluminescence up-conversion is necessary. A background in instrumental programming (Labview) is also required. Familiarity and experience with solar cells is highly desired. Knowledge and experience in computational chemistry will be a plus.
Candidates are invited to send a CV including research experience and list of publications, a statement of research interests, and two letters of recommendations by e-mail to Prof. Jinjun Liu: [log in to unmask]
