Further to last week's discussion about developing apps, I was wondering
how everyone is managing the maintenance of their apps (including debugging
the app, ensuring it works on all compatible devices, adding or changing
content, and making the app compatible with new versions of operating
system software). Do you maintain them with in-house staff? Do you have an
annual maintenance contract with the developer who developed them? Or do
you have another arrangement? Also I was wondering how much you budget for
app maintenance. I have budgeted 15% of the development cost to maintain
our first two native apps for iPhone, Android and Blackberry. This does not
include content updates, as we do those ourselves. Is this in line with
your experience?
Thank you!
