The University of Bath is one of the UK's leading universities, with an international reputation for the quality of our research and teaching. Following the retirement of Howard Nicholson we are seeking to recruit a University Librarian to maintain and develop our strategic direction in this area. This is your chance to lead the University's Library services and contribute to the management of corporate knowledge, information and data. All these activities play a fundamental role in supporting our ongoing development and success.
The role
* Your strategic vision will prove crucial in developing the University's library and archive strategies.
* You will be responsible for:
* Developing the University's overall Library services and the related strategic planning, management and communication of activities
* Providing advice and information on the implementation of the strategies, including provision to support the achievement of strategic goals in relation to education and research
* Managing services that enable and facilitate flexible learning, teaching, research and the University's business and administrative requirements
In addition, as a member of the senior staff you will contribute to the governance and leadership of the University.
The requirements
* You will be an experienced library services professional educated to degree level and holding appropriate academic or professional qualifications.
* You need an outstanding record of achievement as a library services manager with substantial experience at senior managerial level and a substantial track record of planning and managing major projects.
