From CoFHE and UC&R to ARLG: the past, present and future
– Wednesday 9th May 2012 5.30 - 8 p.m. Ewart Room at CILIP Headquarters, Ridgmount Street, London WC1.
This event is being held for members of the newly formed Academic and Research Libraries Group (formerly the Colleges of Further and Higher Education and University, College and Research Groups) from London and the South East regions to hear about the background to the merger of the 2 groups, what is happening at present and what is likely to happen in the future, both nationally and in London and South East.
The event will also include lightning talks on current and future projects across sectors.
Programme
5.30 – 6.00 – Refreshments (tea, coffee and biscuits) - an opportunity for networking, meeting the speakers and the Committee members
6.00 – 6.10 – Introduction to the evening and housekeeping – undertaken by Vicky Robertson as Chair of ARLG London and South East
6.10 – 6.30 – Anne Rowlands (Co-Chair of ARLG) speaking about the merger process from the CoFHE / UC&R view
6.30 – 6.50 – Annie Mauger (Chief Executive of CILIP) speaking about the merger process from the CILIP point of view
6.50 - 6.55 - Lightning talks , including:
Genevieve Clarke and Stephen Wickens - The collaboration between The Reading Agency and Westminster Kingsway College to deliver the Six Book Challenge.
