Dear friends of Inclusion Europe,
If well used, the EU structural funds have significant potential to bring about equal opportunities for disadvantaged groups of Europeans. It thus becomes a major concern when EU member states show reluctance to uphold anti-discrimination, gender equality and disability as conditions to receive funding.
If definitive, removal of so-called ex-ante conditionalities from the 2014-2020 structural funds legislative package might jeopardise real progress in the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
It is now up to the European Parliament, which will start negotiations with the Council in May, to make sure that the 2014-2020 cohesion policy will not become a missed opportunity.
Best wishes,
Information team
Inclusion Europe

The objective of the study was to assess future technology and design so movements in favour of people with disabilities could start early demanding overall access to these new trends.
