While they are rarely used, for swap there is an alternative
which is just to add swap files instead of adding or enlarging
swap partititions.
Since early 2.6.x kernels swap files have been made as "good" as
swap partitions, and they can be added at any time, and this
worked well for me when I found worker nodes with too little
swap space (not that it really ever got used).
