Dear all,
There is a postdoctoral research fellowship available (up to three
years) in geodynamic modelling at the School of Geosciences, Monash
University (Melbourne, Australia). The project will involve geodynamic
modelling of subduction and focus on slab-mantle interaction and mantle
flow patterns around subducted slabs.
The successful applicant will be an active researcher with proven
research experience in geodynamic modelling of crustal to mantle scale
processes. The applicant will have experience and expertise in either
laboratory-based analogue modelling, laboratory-based geophysical fluid
dynamics, or numerical modelling. Furthermore, expertise in plate
tectonic reconstructions will be considered advantageous. The postdoc
will join a team of postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers,
research staff and academic staff and be part of the Geodynamics Group
at Monash University.
Applicants must have a PhD in tectonics/geodynamics/geophysical fluid
dynamics with proven experience in geodynamic modelling.
The vacancy is for an immediate, full-time, position. The initial
appointment will be for one year, and, after satisfactory evaluation at
the end of the first year, can be extended for another two years.
