With apologies for cross-posting...

The School of Environmental Sciences at UEA is inviting applications for a number of exciting new posts. These include a Lectureship in Environmental Science and Policy and a Readership in Climate Change.

The former is linked to our recently established Science, Society and Sustainability (3S) Group, a collective of environmental social scientists working at the interface between geography and STS to understand relations between science, policy and society in response to sustainability challenges (see www.3s.uea.ac.uk).

The latter is linked to the internationally renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, which is headquartered at the School of Environmental Sciences.

Further information about the two posts is given below, with full details available at: http://www.uea.ac.uk/hr/jobs/acad

The deadline for applications to all posts is 4 May 2012.

Lecturer in Environmental Science & Policy

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Environmental Science and Policy in the School of Environmental Sciences. The successful applicant will have a background in human geography, science and technology studies or political science and have experience of researching interactions between science and policy-making in relation to pressing environmental concerns. They will contribute to internationally-recognised research of the Science, Society and Sustainability (3S) Group in this area and will be expected to work with other disciplines and research groups in the School. Teaching contributions will include delivering a new module in the area of environmental science and policy that will be essential to existing and possible new Masters programmes in the School.

Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Jason Chilvers: [log in to unmask]

Readership in Climate Change

Applications are invited for the post of Reader in Climate Change in the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia. The successful applicant will be expected to research and teach on the social science dimensions of climate change. The post is linked to the internationally renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, which is headquartered at the School of Environmental Sciences. The postholder will be expected to lead cutting-edge research in the wider Tyndall consortium, and forge productive alliances within and across the rest of the School and UEA. The person should be highly motivated with an internationally recognised research reputation that enhances the School's existing strengths in relation to climate change adaptation, the policy/governance of climate change, or public understanding/behaviour change.

You will contribute to the teaching and assessment of Undergraduate and Masters level modules in the general area of climate change. The School has several undergraduate degrees, including a brand new BSc programme in Environmental Geography and Climate Change, as well as a long-running MSc in Climate Change.
