Margaret -
How did you know I was posting on Birmingham Words? Are you a member
from way back when?
I think Birmingham Words is pretty much defunct. There was a bit of a
debate in the forum recently, in which somebody said "Is Birmingham
Words still doing anything?" and a lot of people who had obviously been
lurking came forward and said it was a shame how moribund it had gone:
then somebody from the university (which is supposed to have taken over
the site since Will Buckingham moved on to other things) posted a
message to say they were sorry not much was happening on the site, but
they'd got great plans for it - since when absolutely nothing has
happened except they seem to have started moderating the forum and
blocking all of my messages, presumably on the basis that they're spam.
And as I'm just about the only one who posts anything in the forum any
more, that's pretty much the end of that as far as I can see. A lot of
other discussion-lists and websites have gone the same way in the last
few years, though.
Anyway, if you want to see my review of The Last Collaboration it's on
Furtherfield, at
http://www.furtherfield.org/features/articles/last-collaboration - and
thanks for taking an interest!
