The Queensland College of Art (QCA) is located at Griffith University's Brisbane city South Bank campus and the Gold Coast campus. The Queensland College of Art is part of one of the largest creative and performing arts training and research precincts in Australia which is also home to the Griffith Film School and the Queensland Conservatorium. In this environment there is increasing interdisciplinary collaboration between the performing and visual arts.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the South Bank campus.

This position teaches within the Queensland College of Art and contributes to the Bachelor of Design and the Master of Digital Design program. It facilitates informed skill and knowledge development in both the undergraduate and postgraduate Design programs. The program has a strong focus on industry workshops and includes professional practice in the final year. Design Futures is the guiding and developmental philosophy of the Design Department. It marks a fundamental shift in the way design thinking, theory and practice are approached, and is based on the creation of a strong theoretical foundation, engaged research and an interdisciplinary approach to teaching. This approach is grounded in environmental and social responsibility, contextual understanding of the world and the deeper and wider effects and potentials of design. It will aim to educate designers to go beyond being mere service providers to become strategists, future leaders and practical intellectuals.

The person:
