We use the import option for reading lists that have a significant number of digitisation requests (more than 5 usually) and this does save time rather than adding them manually to PackTracker. We do use the student note field, adding a note that a digitised copy of the extract has been requested. Then, once the pdf file is linked to the reading list, we edit the student note and add a copyright statement - "Digitised Extract. Licensed for use only by students registered on this course."
If you add a note in the Student Note field (which I feel is justified as it is giving the student some useful additional information) this notefield does show up on the right-hand side of the import screen. As you say, the list that is pulled across from Aspire is in a seamingly random order, but if you have flagged the item as 'Digitised copy requested' or similar, it is quick and easy to identify these items on the list. Then one click and all your digitisation requests have a record on PackTracker.
From the Aspire development perspective (with or without PT integration), I think it would be useful to be able to flag digitisation requests as this could be useful for reporting within Aspire and managing and reviewing the list. Presumably it would then be possible (with some work from George) to pull through only items that are flagged for digitisation.

Subject: PackTracker Import
Hi
Who out there is regularly using the import option on Pack Tracker from Aspire ?
We cannot use it currently because :
1] It's pulling the lists across in a random order which George says he can't control as it's an Aspire issue.
2] We can't get the Library notes field to come across and we won't put notes in our Student notes field which will show on our live lists - again George says this is an Aspire issue.
How are people using this without it taking much longer than doing it from scratch does ?
