And we mustn't forget the point made by Phil Jones earlier that it's mostly - or entirely- unqualified staff who are providing this extra mile service rather than qualified librarians, on very low salaries and huge pressures on their time.
It means we can't give a time limit on a single enquiry as we used to- and it means our enquiry statistics (based on numbers of enquiry rather than quality and length) are not representative.

Yes, I don't think Amanda was suggesting that she resented it. I have encountered staff that do though (mainly due to lack of confidence in their own skills to be honest). Think this boils down to failings that go back several years. That these failings are still evident now is rather depressing.
