Dear all,
The UKSG Annual Conference is just a couple of weeks away, and the
buzz is already building, so I wanted to update you on the social
media aspects to this year's event:
NEW CONFERENCE BLOG: UKSGLive
Firstly, we have a new blog! As part of our attempt to broaden
people's understanding of what we represent, we've retired LiveSerials
and started a new blog: UKSGLive http://uksglive.blogspot.com
Please update your feeds and do note that you can now subscribe by
email to the blog's reports from the conference.
**As ever, I'm looking for people to help contribute to the blog
during the conference. More details on the blog itself but, please, if
you're taking notes anyway, considering sharing them - it's much
valued by those who can't join us.**
TWITTER / HASHTAG
We're still @uksg, but note that we're switching to the hashtag
#uksglive this year - this is to try and avoid the UK School Games
participants who have taken over #uksg! Please help us spread the word
about the new hashtag so that we're all coming together there.
A summary of tweets will be posted each day on Paper.li (http://bit.ly/A9Sq4h
).
SLIDESHARE
We have a new Slideshare channel where presentations will be made
available during the conference - http://www.slideshare.net/uksg
You can use Lanyrd (http://lanyrd.com/2012/uksg12/), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/UKSG/308492529175975
) and LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?
gid=90407&trk=hb_side_g) if you want to try and hook up with people or
kick discussion off prior to the conference.
Please do let us know, via any of these channels, if you have any
questions or suggestions. We're looking forward to a great virtual
conference alongside the realworld one!
All the best,
Charlie.
