The Department of Medical Statistics wishes to appoint a statistician
to collaborate on TrackOn-HD and Track-HD. TrackOn-HD is a continuation
of Track-HD, a multi-centre, multi-national prospective observational
study in Huntington’s Disease, whose objective is to quantitatively
assess how a range of markers of disease progression change over the
natural course of pre-manifest and early Huntington’s Disease: with a
view to validating these as potential outcome measures for use in future
therapeutic trials.
The post is based at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine, but will involve extensive collaboration with other Track-HD
researchers, primarily those based at the Institute of Neurology, UCL
but also with colleagues at clinical centres in Paris, Leiden and
Vancouver and statisticians at the University of Iowa.
The post will also involve teaching of postgraduate students at the
School.
The successful applicant requires an aptitude for both methodological
and applied research and statistical programming experience. Good
communication skills are a prerequisite. An MSc in statistics or
equivalent is essential, and experience of working in a research
environment is desirable.
The appointment is available immediately and is currently funded until
30th June 2014. The salary will be on the School’s Research
Fellow/Lecturer scales, £35,661-£41,627 per annum inclusive.
Applications should be made on-line via our website jobs.lshtm.ac.uk.
