The conference panels, discussions, presentations and readings
examine culture, politics, identities, childhood, performance and many
other topics in the context of the Caribbean and its diasporas and
discuss how the past 25 years of Caribbean writing connects to, and
builds on, classic texts of Caribbean literature.
We will showcase new and classic works in print and in performance
revealing a rich body of both Caribbean and Black British writing from
visiting guest Peepal Tree writers including Curdella Forbes, Kendel
Hippolyte, Keith Jardim, Anton Nimblett, Raymond Ramcharitar, Tanya
Shirley and Donna Aza Weir-Soley.
Plus UK based Peepal Tree writers Lakshmi Persaud, Dorothea Smartt
& local writers Khadijah Ibrahiim, Simon Murray, Desiree Reynolds &
friends of PTP, Alison Donnell & Thomas Glave; and the launch of
Inscribe National with Jacob Ross.
