Dear ARSN colleagues
The Institute for the Study of the Americas cordially invites you to attend the following event this Thursday:

Latin American Perspectives on the Falklands/Malvinas Dispute
As tensions mount in the dispute between the UK and Argentina over the island's sovereignty, little attention has been paid to understanding the Latin American view of the military, strategic and political issues involved. Hal Klepak, Emeritus Professor of the Royal Canadian Military College, and distinguished historian and contemporary analyst of Latin American military and strategic issues, will provide a geopolitical analysis of the dispute from the perspective of the LAC region.
Venue: Conference Room, ground floor, Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, 17 Russell Square, London WC1B 5DR
Speaker: Hal Klepak, Emeritus Professor of the Royal Canadian Military College, will analyse the dispute over the Falklands Islands and consider the strategic and political options for settling it. Professor Klepak is a Visiting Fellow at ISA and the author of Raul Castro and Cuba: A Military Story, soon to appear in the ISA/Palgrave Studies of the Americas series.
