The next meeting of the Avon group of the Royal Statistical Society will be
on 28 March and will feature presentations from young statisticians working
in the social sciences. There will be three talks:
- "The effect of different incentive strategies in a national pilot study of
the over-50s in Ireland", Mark Hanly (Dept of Economics, University of
- "Genetics and environment of intelligence sub-tests", Rebecca Pillinger
(Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol)
- "Using linked census and survey data to identify bias in measures of
child's home background and the implications for school evaluation", Robert
French (Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol)
The meeting will be held at 2 Priory Road, University of Bristol. The talks
will begin at 5pm, with tea/coffee from 4.30pm. Abstracts and a map can be
