If you were to put together a Statistics Master's course to train new recruits into your industry or to develop the statistical skills of those already working within your organisation, what topics would you want to be covered?
The standard options include the following, but would you include them all?
Probability models; Data Collection, Management and Analysis; Statistical Modelling and Inference; Multivariate Analysis; Databases and Statistical Software; Time Series; Censored Data; Demography and Epidemiology; Statistical Surveys; Bayesian statistics.
Would you also include the following?
Quality Control; Statistical Computing; Communicating Statistics; Statistical Consulting; Data Mining; Web or Business Analytics; Six Sigma; Industrial scale ANOVA; Meta-analysis and reporting bias; Clinical Trials
Are there any other topics you would want to see students cover in the "ideal" MSc course?
All comments and suggestions very much welcomed. Please email me direct unless your response is genuinely part of an open discussion.
Best Wishes and many thanks,
Steve
