Hi
Brief version:
I am planning a survey of US physicians to ascertain how their care of a patient in a specific clinical scenario is altered by the addition of data from a monitoring device. I am looking for a pyschometrician or social science statistician who would be willing to collaborate on such a study. Unfortunately, there is no funding for this study but I anticipate publication.
Long version:
During cardiac surgery and a few other types of surgery some physicians monitor the oxygen saturation of the brain as a guide to cerebral blood flow. The supporting outcomes data for this technology is weak but there is increasing use of the technology in order to avoid adverse events and litigation.
I wish to ascertain how the technology alters physician behavior by providing clinical scenarios that either include, or not, the data from the cerebral oximetry. The survey population will be about 4,000 Anesthesiologists (Anaesthetists) in the US.
Would anyone like to collaborate on this study.
Regards
Simon Body
