Ever wanted to know more about how your Mass Spectrometer works? The British Mass Spectrometry Society (BMSS) is running it's annual "Introduction to Mass Spectrometry" course on Monday 16th of April. The course has been approved for CPD points from the Royal College of Pathologists, the Institute of Biomedical Science and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
This introductory course is designed for scientists from any discipline including the clinical, pharmaceutical and life sciences, along with novices to MS from archaeology to zoology. The course is also useful for laboratory managers who will be employing mass spectrometry data in their analytical projects and wish to gain a solid understanding of the technique or awareness of its potential applications. The course assumes a basic knowledge of undergraduate chemistry but no previous experience in Mass Spectrometry is required.
Attached is the course information along with the programme and details of the tutors.
The Clinical and Forensic Special Interest Group (SIG) of the BMSS was set up to facilitate sharing of knowledge and ideas concerning mass spectrometry in this field. Originally our member base was comprised of scientists from academia, the pharmaceutical industry and bio-analytical facilities, however, the past 2 years has seen the number of scientists from hospitals increase dramatically within the SIG.
