Hi Claudia,
This sounds like a really interesting assemblage. We hold a number of pig and wild boar juvenile specimens in our reference collection which you can view at:
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/professional/research/heritage-science/environmental-studies/Environmental-Studies-Resources/Environmental-Archaeology-Reference-Collections/.
We hold many juvenile specimens which Sylvia Warman studied for her PhD, some of which are relevant to your enquiry, and which I think she will be e-mailing you about.

For other juvenile and foetal animals in our collection we have the following information:
-#2771: 10 months, captive bred male wild boar: dP4 between stages d and e, M1 at stage a, M2 visible in crypt (this unerupted stage is after Ewebank et al. 1964)
-#3300 and 3301, foetal wild boar (same litter, 1 week prior to birth): a number of separate cusps have fallen out of the mandibles which are very fragile, and have no wear.
-#3873,160 days, large white male (castrate) pig: dP4 circa c, M1 a, M2 visible in crypt
-#3885, 6 months, female wild boar, dP4 d, M1 half erupted through bone, unworn (stage a)
-#3886, 4/5 months, (unsexed) wild boar, dP4 d (less advanced than in 3885), M1 visible in crypt unworn (stage a)
-4005, 6 months, female wild boar: dP4 e-f (slightly less advanced than in #4006), M1 b, M2 visible in crypt
-4006, 6 months, male wild boar, dP4 e-f, M1 b, M2 probably just erupting through bone (mandible broken)
We also have a newly acquired reference specimen, a newborn/foetal pig with no breed information, which I can check next week.
Best wishes, Poly

Subject: [ZOOARCH] tooth eruption/wear data from aged piglets
Dear Zooarchers,
I am currently studying piglet remains from a ritual context and I would be very interested in tooth eruption/wear data (possibly sensu Grant 1982) of the lower dP4 and M1 from *aged* individuals for comparative reasons. I am mainly interested in neonatals and juveniles
- possibly less than six months old and certainly no older than 1 year.
If you have any such data and are prepared to share them, I'd be most grateful.
Your help will be duly acknowledged in the publication.
Best wishes,
Claudia
